ASSESSMENT IMPROVEMENTS CODE AMENDMENT BRIEFING
The State Planning Commission’s Assessment improvements Code Amendment is on consultation until 4 March 2025. It builds upon the Commission’s earlier Technical Enhancements Code Amendment and is said to represent what will be a regular review and “tune up” of technical and operational aspects of the Code.
The stated Code Amendment purpose is to enhance the general performance, interpretation and consistency of the Code as informed by submissions to the Expert Panel including its recommendations; the experiences of planning practitioners, local government and Court deliberations.
Policy amendments are generally of a technical or interpretive nature, other than those specific to an Expert Panel recommendation.
