Since 2006, Vas has practiced in various small and large commercial litigation matters. In this time, he has developed a strong reputation as not only a successful commercial litigator, but also as a highly regarded problem solver.

As a part of his commercial litigation experience Vas has practiced in a variety of matters, including contractual and property disputes, shareholder disputes, trust disputes, debt recovery, bankruptcy, insolvency, injunctions, guarantee disputes, negligence, fraud, business and partnership disputes, recovery of business intellectual property and misappropriation of funds.
 
Career highlights include:
  • Advised a large food producer in its debt recovery, resulting in the recovery of a large amount of debt for the company;
  • Advised a large communications company with respect to a derivative and shareholders dispute, resulting in a great result not only financially but structurally so that the business could grow without unnecessary interruptions;
  • Advised and defended a medical practitioner in relation to an investigation by AHPRA, which resulted in a favourable result for the client;
  • Acted for a large company in relation to a claim by a State Government, whereby he successfully challenged a majority of the claims made;
  • Acted for a company regarding a breach of a business sale agreement, whereby the Vendor solicited clients of the business sold, in contravention of the agreement;
  • Acted in a large litigation matter relating to a family trust dispute;
  • Prepared advices and large scale litigation in relation to breaches of the Australian Consumer Law (Competitions and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), breach of contract and breach of promoters duties;
  • Acted for a director in relation to a claim issued by a liquidator, regarding a claim for insolvent trading, breach of director’s duties and for unfair preference payments of a related company;
  •  Assisted in the recovery of a businesses intellectual property (such as client information);
  • Prepared advices and legal proceedings regarding breaches of contract and negligence disputes;
  • Acted in legal proceedings in relation to a breach of confidential information;
  • Acted for various clients (individuals and corporations) in relation to prosecuting and defending claims for certain breaches of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
